I live in Michigan. There are a few trout ponds near me that are stocked yearly, and many of the trout survive for more than a year. My question is how to catch trout in november or early december before the pond freezes. Trout are active in cold water so would they be actively feeding? Would they chase after a spoon or spinner? Where would they be in the pond? Bottom of the water, towards the surface? I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on how to catch a few now, unless it would be better to wait until I can icefish.
