>>1369527Yup, and just use the edge of the compass, no ruler. Come up with a scale that works for your map and the graph paper is used for distance. 1square = 100m or whatever. So if you are drawing a line that is a NW heading let’s say, the distance from corner to corner of the square is 150m.
I use an orienteering compass so as you take or “set” a bearing with your compass and you move the bezel you just leave it and set the compass on the paper. Orient the north lines on the compass with your graph paper and the base is perfectly aligned with your current heading.
