>>345769I'd put Ray on top by a good margin. Seriously, is there any legitimate criticism that can be levelled agains Ray? I can't think of any. Confirmed patron saint of /out/.
Les Hiddins gets second place, basically the Aussie Mears but hasn't covered the same variety of places. I'd watch the shit out of an Aussie Hiddins/Mears collaboration. I know they met up briefly in one of Ray's shows but a full series or even an hour long special would be god tier.
Les Stroud is in third place with me. Knows his stuff, solid advice, can't knock his comitment with all the self filming stuff. It's just a shame he's wandered off in search of Bigfoot lately.
Honourable mentions for Dave Canterbury, best youtube bushcrafter by far. I'd recommend his stuff to anyone developing an interest in this stuff and looking for instructionals.
Cody Lundin, practices what he preaches, excellent knowledge base, top notch in desert survival in spite of the shoes thing. Not to be trusted in any other environment though.
Matt Graham, New to the scene but I like what I've seen so far. First rate primitive skills and physical conditioning.
Joe Teti, Welp, he's a step up from Bear.
Bear Grylls. lol.
