I've been mostly pond hopping this summer and I've caught some good fish
I'm driving 2 hours tomorrow with a friend to fish a big cove at a lake. He says there are huge fish there. Clear water, a couple lily pad spots. But he also said there is a thick layer of vegetation growing at the bottom about 4 or 5 feet high.
What is a good lure or good rig to fish heavy vegetation on the bottom? I've tried using heavier weights with things like rage bugs or plastic crawls but I feel like I'm just ripping through those weeds and I cant feel anything bite. Should i even be fishing through that shit or should i be using swim or crankbaits right above that vegetation?
