I mean no disrespect with this question, but why do you guys like fishing?
I've done it about twice as a kid and I don't really remember the experience. I realize there's some important part of the appeal that I'm missing, so I hope some of you guys might provide a better answer than my mere guessing.
Is it the thrill of catching something alive?
Do you enjoy the physical feedback of pulling and reeling in a fish?
Or more broadly, is it about the challenge and struggle of finding and catching a bigger fish, a better adversary?
Do you enjoy learning more and seeing your own progress over time?
Similarly, is it about comparing your catches?
Is it part of another interest like cooking?
Do you do it socially; was it already important to other people in your life?
I know everyone has different reasons for their hobbies. I guess what I'm asking is: why is this one yours?
