>it's most likely just grey>the alloy determines the finish>after steaming the rust, remove residual oxide with steel wool soaked in vinegar>not doing the above will give you a mottled but less durable finish (fine if you're an artist aka ᚠᚨᚷᚷᛟᛏ)>do a good solid 12 coats>progress is determined by time to rust>sometimes the peroxide/salt is just old and efficacy drops off>change it + steaming water every 3-4 coatspic related is after 5 coats, when it noticeably became more difficult to rust. end result looks very similar except wiped with oil and chilling until easter. happy easter
