You're correct in not changing the stock Air system.
I have pods on my current bigger GS.
Sometimes riding at night(cool, damp) it just doesn't want to go at highway speeds. It'll just bog.
I wish I could find a stock airbox for it. But you also need to remove the engine to get it back in. So most people just cut them out, making it impossible to find one.
I'd like to keep an aftermarket exhaust though. The little extra power is nice. But pods just don't seem worth it.
