Tbh I understand your concerns, I would be more worried when hiking with a gf or wife than alone. If you're a grown man chances are no one is going to mess or give a fuck about when, if they do and you're in decent shape you can always run or even fight you way through that, when you had to the equation someone you like that is weaker shit's different.
