Somewhere north of Pitt Lake there's a lost gold mine that's supposedly the most ore-rich thing ever. One guy found it about 100 years ago. He used to come to town and would trade lumps of gold the size of your fist for gear and food, and then head back up there. But he always took a young girl up there with him. presumably he needed small hands to retrieve the gold, but in his 13 trips to town not one girl ever returned. In 1920 he was hung for the murder of a male in town, and the location of the mine went to the grave with him. 2 people have found it since he died, both returned loaded with as much gold as they could carry. neither will tell the location.
