Southern Outcrops, Black Velvet Canyon, Mud Springs Cyn, First Creek Cyn, Mt. Wilson, South Oak Creek Cyn do not require permits at all. You can walk in to the park from various trails at any time to get to Rainbow Wall (Oak Creek & Juniper Cyn) and Calico 1 & 2, but these are a bit of a hike.
No idea about flying with gear, but I’ve got some if you’d like to rope up together! Just bring some follower stuff worst comes to worst. Desert Rock Sports and Red Rock Climbing Center are the spots to go as a stop-off point before Red Rocks. Hope you have a blast when you come down!
