I'm not going to go into detail on how to do it because I am still learning myself but basically you will have a bottom box where your queen bee lives, breeds, and lays eggs. Then on top of that box you have another box where honey is stored. Once that's full of honey add another box. For a small hive you need to leave them at least one full box of honey they can survive the winter on but any box after that is yours.
