>>1456924Yes, the western US below the pine line, below 5,000-6,000 ft in AZ, conifers still tend to dominate but usually you get junipers and oaks and scrub oaks below that. Aspen patches usually start above 7,000-8,000 ft. Every other western state has similar forested areas broken up into vegetation zones by elevation as well all the way up to sub-arctic tundra above 12,000 ft.
