>>2016989I need to buy some stuff, but I can reuse alot of my fire gear, I can also take a good break halfway through when im close to my home in northern nevada.
>>2016983If I've made it 8 years not getting hurt or seriously injured fighting fire in some truly hot inhospitable places like the fucking six rivers and klamath national forests i think i might just be ok.
>>2017073Thanks m8 thats kind of the way I see it, Spiking and fire work is fun and its mostly hiking and manual labor so it shouldnt be too hard.
>>2017122What was your time frame, and direction, how was dealing with the snow if you had any on your journey?
>>2017172>https://drop.com/buy/drop-granite-gear-crown-x60 I'll check it out, I have a softshell from them for Fire i really like.
ANd listen im not shitting on Ultralight guys, i just dont want to deal with the lack of human comforts just to avoid carrying extra weight that my body is already used to carrying.
I dont really have a plan man, im going to be supplying and gearing up pretty quickly, will put everything together and do some test overnighters once the weather gets a little better and then just try and go for it. I'm not really a tough guy, I just think that what i've put myself through the last 8 years has put me at a really good place to do something like this.
>>2017178Thats pretty fast, I'm not going to push myself past the point of no return, and I've had tendinitis before backpacking in India, it sucks but the only thing you can do is stay off the foot, and im sure i can do that.
