My experience eating these has been wholly negative. They don't taste very good and bugs really like them (although yours do look pretty clean...). I've heard that our North American varieties are culinarily inferior to the European species-- which is where they got their reputation as a good edible.
If you eat them, please post your impressions! I'd love to get more perspective on this.
