although, i guess if you had a bag you could just hang it off your backpack or something, it's not like mushrooms are all that heavy.
i'll report back if i find anything neat. i showed a friend some stuff i found and they were reasonably confident that pic related could be honey mushrooms.
i live in east texas and there are some cool edibles around here. i've found some huge shaggy parasols earlier this year, way more than you could pick on your own, and a small cluster of chanterelles.
