>>1387099>>1387741Price: Way too high for what it is if you are thinking of paying full price. In general, I think softshell jackets are fairly unnecessary for the outdoors and I often just bring a hardshell instead because it's more packable and provides more protection from the elements, while being less durable. If you really want it, I'd wait for a heavy sale. I got mine for $200CAD, still quite expensive compared to an average softshell jacket but I liked the fit, venting, and ability to move nearly unhindered.
Fashion: Keep in mind Fjallraven is a fashion brand to some degree...
Some on here don't give a fuck about this, but I think it's safe to say the vast majority of the population cares what they look like even when no one will see them. The jacket looks good in my opinion; I like to be presentable when going into the woods for the day or at work. Talking to homeowners/contractors and looking presentable is important, and being out on the trails I'm approachable by people who have questions or want to chat. If you don't give a shit about any of this, then disregard it.
Overall, I like it. I wouldn't say it's a necessary piece of gear, nor would I say it's super useful in general, but if you're looking for a softshell jacket that breathes well, allows freedom of movement, has a great hood + venting options, and looks good doing it, it fits the bill. I still suggest no one pay full price for this, that's ridiculous.
