>>1044903though theses R-values are strange they are possible as CCF can just be made thicker. (its cut from big blocks- shaped stuff is heat molded like the egg carton things)
you get around 2,1 R-value per cm CCF so you just need to stack 3-4 cm to get as high as he claims. but 3 cm is the thickest i ever saw sold.
also, R-value of 9!? that's like polar region stuff 6 is said to be for around -25°c so 9 is what -50°c? so i would agree that some level bullshit is involved.
>>1044696 this is somewhat correct. but i would say its only common with knife posts. but this thread fits it too. >>1046350the critique would be gearfags make stupid recommendations ruining the thread. Because that Australian will most likely not need a crazy mat as temperatures are somewhat mild, hell google says most temperature records are for -10°c and the absolute record is 40 years old at -23°c on a wintertime mountain top. so, he sure as shit won't need a expensive R-value 6+ down filled air mat. at extra weight and cost. cost of course being relative as $150 is a lot for a mat and yet cheap for a Down Quilt. or other sport equipment for that matter.
>>1048368like this one? do you any experience with it? i was wondering if it’s any good. Chink knock offs are getting cheap from what i saw.
