>>1058240Now, I fear that rabid fans of the show, and/or
fans of Sam, are going to take issue with me.
I don't have anything against Sam.
I'm sure Sam has /out/ skills.
I'm also sure it is devilishly difficult to balance
contestant isolation and contestant safety, from
a both production and underwriting standpoint.
This is TV, and its point is to entertain.
I want to be entertained, but also to learn how
a survivalist deals with being 'alone', which is
why I made an effort to see just how 'alone'
they were: proper context helps appreciation.
It's still a fun show to watch, and I still learn
a few things.
