How politely, and mutually beneficial to all parties, is an outcome that can be controlled by you. What negatives are there to just treat your fellow man, especially /out/folk, in an amicable manner? I think it's just the old man in me, or perhaps because I've worked nearly two decades in an inherently, highly negative environment (and people) that causes me to bitch about treating people nicer, especially when you have nothing to lose.
What benefit is there at all into sharing a condescending opinion or any negative comment to some stranger you don't know, especially when it's just a simple offer of kindness? Despite what you think, they were at LEAST decent enough to freely offer something that they valued highly, didn't they?
