>>532251Yes they can, but I wouldn't recommend recording hours of footage on a single 32gig card because it increases the chances of corrupted files (that's true of a lot of cameras, not just go-pros).
Also, as a /p/ro editor I wouldn't record hours and hours of 720 footage anyway because most of it will end up in the deleted bin. Up your res and be more selective about when you leave the camera recording and you'll save yourself some of the monotony later (but not all of it, editing is monotonous).
Also, GoPros are good but if you're just shooting for yourself and your youtube channel there are plenty of good cameras which don't cost as much.
I'm partial to the sony action cam. The base model is <$200, records 1080/60p, has a Zeiss lens and it comes with a built in tripod thread so you're not locked in to using sony-specific mounts (if you want to do this with a GoPro, it's $11 for the adaptor).
Contour just came back on the market as well. Those are pretty tough little cameras that still crank out a good image even if they don't record to the same 2k-4k settings at the GoPro. Plus they have a rotating housing and they're water resistant to 3m without a dive housing.
