OP honestly it's easy to make your own 60 lb bow from PVC for cheap, I'd do that
Hell, I'd even get an old hickory longbow, because of how awesome they are, silent, swift, light weight and very good for hunting
>RecurveIf you go Recurve, I do not recommend a 'take down' because it compromises the integrity of the bow imo, and not worth the convenience. Go Bear or Browning, if you can. Don't spend more than $200 on one. Get the plastic end protectors so you don't break your glass when you string your bow, get an Armguard so you don't cut your tendons, and a Three-finger glove unless you're a hardcore motherfucker
Go to an archery shop if you have one in your area, don't be shy, have them measure your arm length and find out what you can pull
Contrary to popular belief, sometimes is better to easily pull a 40-45 lb draw smoothly than struggle to pull a 60-65 ln draw and lose accuracy
If you go traditional, make your own wooden arrows, yes with feather fletching (so it can breakdown and increase accuracy), it's easy to do and will be much more accurate than trying to use compound arrows.
>CompoundCompounds are easy mode so easy a child can use them, which is cool, but they are way overpriced and you'll end up spending more on tacticool bullshit you could do yourself.
There is no real "performance" difference besides pulling is a little easier, and it's seriously more satisfying imo to go hunting with a traditional bow.
Another thing with compound is they can "blow up" and tear your shit up, they break easily, and need to be repaired and trued up more frequently, especially the new plastic shit they are trying to sell for $800 at Cabela's (avoid it it's a rip off)
>Dem BrandsSage is terrible. Every shop will tell you to buy their starter Sage 50 lb takedown bow, just to get rid of them. They sell them mass produced in plastic. Avoid that shit.
I'd go with the PSE out of those, or try for a better one
