It needed to be done quickly, so they just pushed it into the shed where it sat for the last week. It was pretty gnarly, thankfully I had a few masks and a ton of latex gloves. Tonight I'll start making runs to local dumpsters to dump the trash. Currently have about 8 or 9 bags I'd say, plus 6 in the recycle bin that I hope they empty for us despite containing all sorts of non recyclable shit.
Last night I visited a local church for the dinner they put on and made my case to the local pastor. He told me that he would support the community and that we were welcome any time. He also voiced his concerns that it's a tight-knit community and that I had to make sure the kids weren't trashing the neighborhood and the like. I agreed and told him that was something I already talked to them about it and planned to keep going hard about not tagging in our neighborhood, littering, etc.
While talking to the pastor some guy came up and asked if anyone wanted the bike he was pushing. It's a rather nice bike, very solid and after a few additions could be a completely street legal bike that I can use to ride around town on the streets in any lane I want like the other annoying cyclists.
