Not a mine, but here’s a cave I explored in the blue ridge mountains earlier this year. It’s pretty well known to people who know the area. This was a big open space at the beginning of the cave, with ceilings maybe 20 feet high and about 70 feet long by 50 feet wide. I went about a hundred yards deep into the cave past this point, and although the cave is over a mile deep and good for caving, I was alone without proper gear except a headlamp so I didn’t go in far.
