Woman with knife vs unarmed attacker would likely get the knife turned against her. Woman with knife vs an attacker with their own knife or gun is in an even worse situation.
A knife is a terrible self defense weapon for anybody, even a fit man. Pepper spray is a much better option if you can't carry a gun.
