Pic related is a carving axe.
The carving hatchets (at lest when it comes to Gränsfors) uses the same heads as the small hatchet and the wildlife hatchet, which are heads that closely resembles the one on Kubben. Only the handles are different.
Them using the same heads indicates that they work well for doing carving and the handle bit has probably a lot to do with preference. So a Kubben would surely work fine.
