In general, I have made up a diagram and a specific shopping list for supplies, pic related. I'll add sawdust or wood ash as necessary if it's still stank but I think this will be a pretty massive improvement over the pit as it stands. Thoughts? I'm opting against including wood in the layers since it will just break down and sink my pit into the ground after a while, which might be a problem anyway just from the weight.
