>>2185918What I would do, watch a few videos on propagating basil and snip along the red lines then put them in a cup with just water. Change the water every 3 days or so and they will start to root. Once rooted put them into a slightly larger cups with potting soil and see if they thrive.
Basil follows a very repetitive grow pattern and if you cut above the fork you can propagate basil indefinitely. Basil, like tomato, loves water, but if it sets in wet soil then mildew can set in and then the roots rot, which is why you should have a saucer to allow drainage and let the run off water evaporate.
