My neighbor actually introduced me to hunting when I was 15. I shot my first deer with his .30-30 marlin at about 40yards at 15. It kinda snuck up on me when I was rounding a logging road.
It was a 200lb ish doe. He made me take a bite of the heart, he said it was a tradition killing your first big animal. It tasted like a warm sponge
