>>1094014here's my report. i started off rocky, pic related was my 3rd cast. about 10 minutes later, i fell off a log in to shin-deep water and sank up to my waist in muck. needless to say my phone doesnt turn on any more. but i pulled my self out, washed off in a riffle, and got back to fishing. i couldnt figure a cadence, it was probably 30 minutes of nothing, then suddenly, while i was fucking around (not even trying just watching my streamer and the actions i could make it do) i figured out how to make it swim with little 4 inch strips. literally 40 inches of stripping in to that playing around i saw a golden green flash and my rod nearly pulled from my hand. i set the hook as soon as i realised what happened, but nothing. i made the cast again, with the same cadence, and he took my fly again. this time i had him, though. i was ready to do a strip set, and i nailed him beautifully, the hook went down throuth the under side of his mouth completely. my first pike on fly was a 20 inch fatty, that blew any bass i've ever hooked out of the water for fight.
as i was unhooking him, i got the hook out, but he refused to let go of my fly for a good 20 seconds after i put him back in the water.
the second fish i got wasnt even hooked, he just let me strip him in because he wouldnt let go of it.
one fish swiped at my fly 3 times and never found the hook. every other fish, i hooked beautifully. it was a solid hook-up but i didnt even need pliers because it was right on the edge of the mouth. all in all, i had 6 pike hit, and i landed 5 of them
i also got a 10.5 inch smallie,, and had a 4 inch green sunfish curiously nip at the tail of my fly.
all in all, 9/10 day, would be 10/10 if i had pictures of the fish.
