First one was me telling a group of people in the car park I spotted a grizzly and they began chasing it trying to get a better view of it. Nothing happened but I thought it was a bit risky.
Second one was in the Lamar valley. Well known place that people go to watch the wolves and the bears. Picrel. One woman decides she wants a closer view and heads down into the valley onto a shelf of land between us and the valley floor. We had already spotted the wolf pack walking our way so everyone else is already thinking she’s pretty brave. As the wolves were in the valley we couldn’t actually see them but it last looked like they were heading to the river. Anyway just as one of the rangers went down to get her the wolf pack pokes their head up from behind the hill up to this shelf the woman was on and they were so close you could actually appreciate how massive they were. In hindsight they were just being curious but I thought she was going to get eaten.
Also one happened to me where I was walking down a trail there and I see a massive brown animal come out from behind some trees and I just about shit myself thinking I was going to be face to face with a grizzly. Thankfully it was only a bison but I made it jump which wasn’t ideal. Waved my arms and shouted at it and it didn’t do anything but that was pretty exciting.
Yeah I like Yellowstone a lot. Good times.
