I will say though that the more I've gone out and larped with my gear+guns I've gotten further and further away from the /k/ommando mainstream Hypebeast culture around full gear and fully decked out ARs and stuff. I started with a full chest rig and an AR with a quad rail and all the stuff on it to going to just a belt setup. Now my preference is for my German chest harness which carries 2 rifle mags and a pistol and I carry an M16A2 clone since it's lightweight and I'm currently working on putting together an even more basic lightweight AR to drop the weight further. The more you larp the more you'll find that carrying full gear + plates + Gucci AR is kinda a meme and you just want to enjoy yourself more. Eventually I'll put together a solid LBE setup and have a super lightweight retro AR and I think that will be perfect.
tl;dr do whatever you want but understand you will probably trend towards carrying less and less so you enjoy yourself more
