>>2280279I'm ESL so there's margin for error on my part as well but here's a mediocre photo taken while getting the sprit sail ready. It is used as mainsail, same principle as the dinghy in the background, with the right hand boat getting the sprit boom(?) ready. Usually the mainsail will be just a regular triangular sail but instead of having the bottom edge leach attached to a boom it is free hanging and attached only to the mast and the main sheet (as is this sprit sail).
Supremely low quality boat talk here but hopefully it makes a little more sense.
