Supposedly they are best at dusk and dawn, when the water is fairly calm and you can see the fish feeding at the top. Today is fairly warm, and I was trying some poppers like a month ago when it was warm and got a handful of bites, but was setting the hook too quick. Also the water was real calm this morning, but there is a light breeze right now and they are still biting.
I just got another bite on this rubber frog, but couldn't hook it. That's the one problem with weedless lures like that.
