This is just the tip of the iceberg, but In the UK all new built homes must have a bathroom on every floor, or at least a toilet room with space to be converted into a full bathroom should the owner at some point become physically disabled to the extent of not being able to make it up the stairs. This is every new house built in the UK. Each and every one is built with disability in mind, despite the fact that the vast majority of them will never have a disabled occupant because disabled people tend to go for bungalows, ground floor flats or places with lifts/easy access. All these extra bathrooms and spaces and features of course push up the cost of even the smallest of places and prices out any first time buyers.
this is one of the many reasons why I'm going to get a boat and live on the canal.
