I'm pretty /out/ overall, and I've been on this board since the beginning. I'm very shrewd about my gear and my money. I research what I want, get exactly what I need, and waste no money on the wrong item or redundant items. I don't like having items that overlap much in functionality, because it feels like a waste of money and space and it's overall inefficient. For example: having two rain coats that have different pros and cons instead of finding one perfect coat that has the right cross-section of features.
Anyway, these are my knives and cutting things. Now, obviously the hatchet and multitool are the oddball items with very specific uses, but then we come to the knives. Most of them have been gifts attained over time. The only one I ever seem to really use is the SAK. How come I can't find reason to use the others? I guess what I'm asking is, what is the ideal purpose and intended use of each of these blades?
