How long are you going out for? I just bring a pre-charged compact 10,000 mAh power bank. It'll give me 3 1/2 charges on my phone. Bringing solar panels with you only seems to make sense if you're gone for over a week or you use your phone a lot. Disable GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, Data, and Wifi, enable the power saving function and use a watch to check the time. If you have poor reception then enable Airplane mode which saves a lot of power.
