My days of hanging around bike shops when I was younger, lots of them like white lithium grease. The shit in the tube is good for bearings and stuff, and the spray for everything else. With the chain, spray it and use a rag to wipe off the excess so you don’t get black marks on your leg and pants.
For a filty casual, just buy a bottle of 3-in-1. It’s a couple dollars and you can use it for a squeaky door hinge or whatever the hell you want. They sell it everywhere and I think Walmart has it in multiple locations like near the tools, near the car, near the bicycle stuff, etc.
