If you're worried about branches and snags try the muskegon river in newaygo Michigan. There's a hotel there that's 40 bucks a night so crashing there and fishing before sunrise is prime.
Finally there's peremarquet river. I recommend lodging at red moose lodge. There's a guy there who's a guide and will give out tips to guests. Plus the lodge is comfy af and cheap.
