>>1338923My personal choice is actually a 410. You can use shot or slugs with them and take down most anything from starlings to deer. I can't vouch for larger game since I've never hunted anything larger with a 410. Also, check your local hunting regulations because some areas don't allow 410 hunting for large game like deer or have special regulations you need to learn. I prefer an over-under double barrel ($450+). One barrel unchoked & loaded with a slug and one choked (I don't use a choke) with bird/buck shot since hunting seasons overlap and the best game is the one you have in the bag.
