I'll bite. Using a swivel drastically effects the presentation and weight distribution of a lure. Try putting one of your snaps on a topwater frog, and you'll notice the swivel pulls the nose of the lure down and creates unnecessary extra weight. snap swivelis not even needed and only adds more “stuff” on your line that can potentially cause problems and/or spookfish.
The only time I'd use a steel leader is throwing oversized rooster tails and deep diving cranks for pike and muskie.
