The DI pedal looks like a good option for matching impedance , I might look into that when trying my own hydrophone builds. I’ve built my own basic ones in the past and also bought a few too, but I’ve never had much luck with them so I’m thinking to just cut to the semi-pro hydrophones and get a pair of Aquarian h2n’s and saving for the ambient fish daddy one if I get right into it.
Luckily at the moment I live less than 2mins walk from the coast, although I’d need to drive and hike out to get away from all the noisy fucking tourists for any recording, also the odd river, pond around too. So hydrophones kinda make sense as I find that stuff fascinating.
