>>1959608Oh it definitely wasn't bad enough to need boots and crampons. Going up towards Pisciadu, I met two couples coming down, they were fully kitted out with via fertta stuff and have boots on. I chatted to one of them and they were unsure about me going on in trail runners and micro spikes. But it was fine.
I ended up hiking an alternative around Passo felle Farangole though as it was totally snowed out, the via fertta stuff was completely covered. Pic related. It was the only alternative I had to use. The climb look beyond my skill set and equipment. I'm happy I made the right choice. I'm going to go back and do the pass when the snow isn't there so I can see what I would have been dealing with.
