Spain has the advantage of being less heavily populated, although France isn't bad in that aspect compared to its neighbours.
One thing I like about France as well is its position, pretty much right in between northern and southern Europe with all the climates and natural diversity it implies
Also a lot of "natural regional parks", not exactly like the national parks but places where human development has to go accordingly to a charter to ensure as much a balance as possible with the surrounding nature.
Anyway both countries have very solid argument I think
