>>1051828>Why the fuck would I waste a good knife to batoning when I can just carry a lightweight trekking axe?I use my axe to split to about 1.5" diameter, baton with a knife smaller beyond that. It's safer and easier, and really not that hard on the knife. Tiny split kindling is nice for restarting fires in mornings or for twig stoves.
