>>2722086I can give you the one I use on my 2 wt
>two feet of 15 pound mono>a foot of 10 pound>two feet of 8 pound >hopper>water depth of 4 or 6 pound>nymphI tie it short and heavy to conserve all the power the 2 weight has, and to I'll improve accuracy. I'm not worried about slapping the water with a hopper dropper rig cause hoppers dont exactly land softly to start with and sometimes that slap makes every fish in a hole charge whatever made it, it's cool to watch 2 or 3 fish race eachother for your fly.
Also your 3 weight line might be stiffer than my 2 weight line, so you might wind up making the two feet of 15 a foot each of 20 and 15 or 17 and 15 it depends on what balances best with your line.
>>2722099Look up a youtube tutorial on disassembly and reassembly and follow along. The 1500 to the 5000 should all didmsassemble the same so any tutorial should work.

Texas rigs are not for covering water they're for knocking on the fish's front door. Also try varying your retrieve. Try swimming it, try dragging it as painfully slow as you can, try hopping it, try popping it, try snapping it, try a burn and drop, try 3 twitches and a pause, try 7 twitches and a pause (it has to be a prime number) try cutting your lure down to make it smaller, just try everything you can think of. And dont grow roots, if you've been fishing one tree for 10 minutes without a bite it's time to move to the next one. If you're fishing weeds make a cast or two at any given pocket then move on, theres not a catchable fish there.
