Initially they handled everything and I just stood around with supplies and taking the pics because I expected to do nothing. My GF is in cardiac surgery and sutures every day so we all decided she was going to do it. But her first throw, honestly was shitty, way too close to the edge, needle not entering at 90%. I think she was too worried about the pain so she was taking wimpy "bites" (distance from the edge that you insert the needle). Maybe she is too accustomed to fully anesthetized patients, different size needles and suture materials, etc. This was 3-0 thread, and a decent depth lac, so it needed big bites. When she tore through the edge of the skin with the first attempt I decided to take over and she was fine with that.
