>Any advice for launching these trips?save money and just do it. I sat around for ages dreaming of hiking a long trail. Then one day I realised that you've actually got to do it. Otherwise quit dreaming and move. So I stopped spending my money, started researching, and booked plane tickets. Since then I've hiked a bunch of long trails all over the world.
Best to start with trails that aren't so exposed and have some infrastructure aronud them .If you're based in the UK then look at some of the european classics like the GR10, GR11, HRP, Walkers Haute route. I'm eyeing up the GR52 at the moment, as well as some swiss hikes. There's tons on your door step. But it's really a case of putting where your money where you mouth is, working hard, and doing it.
