>>2239998My question is about coyote seasons in PA. I was reading this year's hunting regulations in PA and I'm a little confused. I HIGHLY doubt I'll ever see a coyote this year, but you never know. From all I could read, it sounds like you can hunt coyotes even in deer season if you have a furtaker license, you just have to wear full orange (vest and hat).
>Coyotes>No closed season, with certain exceptions during big-game seasons (page 7)>* Fluorescent orange is required when hunting coyotes during any big game season, if orange is required during that season, including from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. (page 8)>1 – During the Regular Firearms Deer Season, it is unlawful to take or attempt to take other wild birds or mammals, except game birds on regulated hunting grounds, migratory waterfowl, coyotes,* feral swine, wild boar and bears. (page 11)>* Note: Outside of any big game season (deer, bear, elk or turkey), coyotes may be taken with a hunting or furtaker license, and without wearing orange. During any big game season, coyotes may be taken while lawfully hunting big game (must follow orange requirements), or with a furtaker license. (page 11)That's fine; I don't want to be mistaken for a deer. That's really all the restrictions there are other than a specified season, despite (IIRC) them being open year round before. That's fine, too. However, ALSO on page 11:
>2 – Raccoons, foxes, coyotes*, bobcats, striped skunks, opossums and weasels may be hunted any hour, day or night, except during restricted periods noted in Exception 1 (see furtaking section for more detail). When you go to find said exception on the "furtaking section", there is NO such exception unless they're talking about the orange requirements. Before I call the game commission and have to try and explain all of this over the phone (I won't get anywhere quick), I figured I should ask here.
