They have lasted six years without any issues, they are the best fitting boot I have ever owned, and they aren't heavy (YMMV on that since I'm rather used to the weight of combats). I'm big on the full length ankle support and the added protection from snakes, bugs, briars, etc.
I wouldn't worry about stolen valor nonsense. They're just boots, dude. It's not like you're walking around with a medal of honor around your neck.
