Almost didn’t go but decided to go with my whole family on a whim. Brought mats and blankets and laid out in a field so we didn’t have to snap our necks, cozy. Didn't take any pics of my own and nobody caught any shooting stars on film but the aurora (picrel) was cool. Got photobombed by a car but except for that we were lucky with light pollution. Saw probably like 15-20 shooting stars in an hour. Stargazing is honestly worth it every night of the year with a clear view but this was just so many awesome phenomena at once and my first aurora, at least the first time I actually noticed it. Was actually wondering if any of you guys were out that night too
